Starting your acting journey can be an exciting and daunting experience at the same time.  I always recommend the first thing a newcomer do is get into beginner acting classes, in Saskatoon or whatever city you’re living.  I remember starting my acting journey and having zero idea what I was doing, and no clues where to look.  Most people told me I’d have to go to the big city if I wanted to act… but what about just figuring out if I enjoy it?

Saskatoon offers plenty of opportunities to explore the craft of acting.  Although there are advantages to being in larger city centres, there are also disadvantages and challenges.  Saskatoon is the perfect place to get started on your journey as an actor.  Its inexpensive to live, there are training resources available, and these days auditioning online is the primary mode of getting jobs for the actor.  So if your a beginner wanted to get into acting, whether you’re looking for structured classes, casual workshops, or career focused programs, this guide will help you find the perfect beginner acting class to kickstart your journey.

 

Where Should I Start?

Start with a class, a meeting, or even an email to get your initial questions answered!  A reputable school will typically let you sit in on a class to make sure your happy about what your diving into.  This is a great way to get a foot in the door without spending any money.

Acting for Movies, Films and Social Media

1. Black Box Academy is an excellent choice for beginner acting classes in Saskatoon. • • • • Since these are less focused on training, and more about performance these are often not the best place for a beginner to start.  However, sometimes it takes getting to stage to get a feeling for the craft.  I do know a few actors who found their passion through a show, instead of in class.  Although its definitely not the norm!
