Acting and improv classes that help teens build confidence, creativity, friendship, and stage presence.
Through improv, scene work, storytelling, and performance exercises, teens develop stronger communication skills, creative confidence, and a real sense of belonging with a supportive group of peers.
Teens can join the next available 9-week term. During fall registration, families can also secure a 27-week full school-year spot across fall, winter, and spring.
Why teens love acting and improv
Acting and improv give teens a place to express themselves creatively, take risks in a supportive room, and connect with other students who also love performance, storytelling, and creative play.
Confidence that transfers
Students practice speaking clearly, making strong choices, and handling attention from others in a way that also helps with presentations, interviews, and everyday communication.
A real peer group
Making friends as a teen can be hard. These classes make it easier by giving students a shared activity, a regular group, and a reason to laugh, create, and belong together.
Real performance skills
Teens work on improvisation, scene work, storytelling, listening, character, and ensemble skills used in professional acting and improv training.

Common questions
Does my teen need acting experience?
No. Teen Acting and Improv is beginner-friendly and supportive. Students with experience are welcome too, but the class is designed so new students can join comfortably.
Will there be a performance?
Yes. Each 9-week term includes an in-class showcase so students can share what they have been practicing. Full-year students also build toward a real year-end performance.
Will this help my teen make friends?
That is a major part of the program. Improv gives teens a shared activity, a regular group, and a low-pressure way to connect with other creative students. For many teens, this is one of the easiest ways to find a group where they feel like they fit.
Are instructors screened?
Yes. All Blackbox team members working with youth are Police Vulnerable Sector checked.
How do the payment plans work?
Term payment plans split the 9-week term into smaller payments. Full-year payment plans split the school-year tuition into scheduled payments, but the full-year option is still a school-year registration, not month-to-month enrolment.
Why choose the full school-year option?
Teens often grow the most when they have time to build comfort, friendship, confidence, and skill over a longer stretch. The full school-year option also gives families the convenience of securing their spot from fall through spring.
