Our kids classes are designed to help students learn the basic elements of performance and story, all while building confidence in their abilities. These are foundational classes that help children not only grow as creatives, but also improve their social and emotional skills.
All classes are held in Saskatoon.
About our Kids Classes at Blackbox Academy
At the core of everything we do at Blackbox Academy is improvisation. Our classes offer an opportunity for kids to express themselves fully, without the need to memorize anything! It’s a place where kids get to play in a structured way that supports their growth and development.
They make friends, let off steam, learn new games, challenge themselves, overcome obstacles, and so many other amazing elements that come as a byproduct of performing arts training.

With improvisation and acting techniques at its core, this class gives kids a chance to create, play, and share.
Performance education is the practice of building confidence, developing social skills and solving problems. Giving children at this age a chance to socially express themselves is a crucial step in building the confidence they will carry into their adult years.

Acting, improvisation, and play are the focus of this class. Students explore a variety of games and challenges.
Kids of this age range benefit immensely from this type of education as they move towards their teenage years and begin facing the new challenges ahead of them. Our classes allows these young minds to explore the vast reaches of their creativity. It teaches them how to connect, how to navigate tough emotions, to play, and to feel confident in who they are.
How to Register
Registering for kids classes at Blackbox Academy is simple!
1. Select a Class
Navigate to our registration form.
Fill out the registration form with your details.

Wait for us to email you more information!
2. Pay the Deposit
Pay the $50 non-refundable deposit, or full class/month payment to secure your spot in class. This is applied towards your class payment.

- Send proof of funds (Photo of the etransfer)
What Should I Do Now?
Complete the rest of your class payments before the first day of class.
3. Finish Your Payment Before the First Class
Payments can be made for the full class amount, or monthly. If you choose to pay by monthly instalments, payment must be received before the first class of that month.
When Are Classes Scheduled?
We offer classes throughout the year, with sessions typically running for 12 weeks.
Summer Camps will be running in July-August, with more information coming soon
When Will The Class I Registered For Start?
Classes are by wait list until the student minimum (8) is reached.
Once the class minimum is reached we check in with students/parents to select the most optimal day of the week or weekend for the class.
Why Do You Schedule Like This?
This scheduling method helps keep students grouped together, learning together at a similar pace as much as possible.
This scheduling method also improves connection, retention, and excitement within the group, about each lesson.
