Acting Education in Saskatoon
Our Mission
With our improvisation and acting classes, we aim to provide opportunities for kids and adults alike to dive into one of the most rewarding activities a person can take part in. No matter your skill level or age, the performing arts is an invaluable tool for growth and forward momentum in your life. We challenge our egos, test the boundaries of our abilities, play, and overcome mental and physical obstacles in each class.
Although performance education is not therapy, improvisation and acting classes have a tendency to be incredibly helpful in everyday life.
Our classes give kids the opportunity to grow into their most confident, playful, unique selves. For adults, they provide the chance to sharpen communication skills, build confidence, improve listening skills, and much more.
Our Story
After spending over a decade training and performing in Vancouver, I began to notice there wasn’t much for performance education in Saskatoon. With few local options available, I’d find myself visiting family over Christmas and looking for film acting or improv classes, only to be disappointed.
At the same time, with Vancouver’s film industry completely booming, I could register for 20 different classes on any night of the week.
The demand for content around the world continues to increase with more streaming services available, more social media, and more consumption.
Because of this demand, there is a pull for qualified, well-trained performers and storytellers to help fulfill that need!
This means an equally large opportunity for those who are keen, skilled, and ready.

Our Catalyst
As you quickly learn in our story classes, the catalyst is the part of the story when a character crosses a threshold into a ‘new world,’ where they must face new challenges on the way to reach their desire.
Although I had dreams for Blackbox Academy years before meeting Kristin, it was the partnership with her that ultimately catalyzed this dream into reality. Together we aim to offer a safe, inclusive space for all ages to create, play, share, and grow.
To dive into the incredible experience of the performing arts.
